    About time...A4 Avant USP

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hello everyone,
I've been a member here too long, and I just recently got an A4 after finally selling my old pride and joy:

I live in Los Angeles, but the car I had to have was in Pennsylvania, so a road trip ensued.

We headed East for about an hour just to see the Atlantic (forgot to take pics of the car):

Headed toward Chicago and forgot to take pics of the car again (It was in a parking garage anyways):

The roads through Iowa and Nebraska were sketchy as shit with summer tires:

Engine misfired then stalled on the highway:

I knew it was the coilpacks from reading Audizine too much, so I had the tow truck take us to a VW dealer in Lincoln, Nebraska (20 miles away) instead of an Audi dealer (~150 miles away) because I knew the B6 Passat used the same ones. Turned out to be 2 bad coilpacks, and a blown ECM fuse.

Made it to my buddy's house in Boulder, CO, then went snowboarding the next day:

    Post-session:

Heading toward Steamboat, CO, a deer jumped out and started running across the road. I downshifted to engine brake and started to pump the brakes but that stupid-ass hit us. The deer was fine and bolted away, but the wagen was not. Busted hood, headlights, fender:

    Clear tape patch job:

Headed out the next day for a beautiful drive through the rest of Colorado, Utah, a corner of Arizona, Nevada, and home to California:

And finally, at home next to the Pacific:

The wagen will be going to the body shop soon, then I need to start saving for some mods! First off, Revo Stage 2 and an RS 4 sway bar.

Road Trip! I love Road Trips.

Glad to see you found what you have been looking for. She'll be fixed up in no time. I suggest a whole new fender rather than a patch job with body filler.

How many miles are on the odometer? What year USP?

Skip Stg2 and go right to a BT.

Wow. That sounds like an eventful trip. You have my matching car!
Mine is a 2005 USP Avant 1.8T Tip with just under 40K on the clock.
So far, my issues have been limited to a leaky sunroof drain that subsequently soaked and stained my headliner. After a lot of hassle with the local dealer, it was replaced under warranty.
I recently had a passenger side window regulator failure that I had to fix because my warranty is out and its no CPO. Oh well.
Here she is. This is the daily driver while I'm working on a 91 CQ 20VT. I love it and it is awesome in the snow. Dry Utah pow or slick Sierra slush, it rips right through...

    Re: About time...A4 Avant USP

Yeah bad luck is for sure. Hopefully I don't run into many more problems. It's a 2005 6 speed. I noticed that the rear bumper on mine is completely painted without the flat black section. What's that all about?

As far as a BT, maybe someday, which is why I plan on getting the Revo software. Right now I'll stick with the K03 and get some 380/386cc injectors. Coming from the Tahoe, the A4 is pretty quick to me as is. Maybe if I got a ride in someone's A4 with a BT, then I would understand.
