That would be a driver side 50-50 down the curb. He's gotta try a tire-slide next. haha

Still cheaper to fix the rims then the body if he hit the utility pole or the cars further down.

Probably had summer tires on, which are ridiculous in ice/snow. I can't stress how important it is to have the correct tires for the season.

If you buy a quattro, Buy the Winter Tires too. Give this car a fair chance to prove itself. Allseason dont save you insow, nor they perform good in summer. Gotta have a pair of Winter and summer tires instead of wasting money on Allseason

Yup. It's been in the 20's for about a week now and we got a bunch of snow. Then it warmed up the other day just enough for the snow to start to melt and then froze again followed by 8-14 inches of snow.

The whole region is an ice rink right now.

That sucks. Best to not even drive. I wouldn't drive if I knew there was a layer of ice under the snow.

Studless snows will have issues as well. Only studded snows will help in those conditions but you're still rolling the dice. Chains FTW!

yeah it's really hill covered all over downtown. But it's so slick right now. It hasn't stopped snowing since last night on top of the fact it's been snowing pretty much every day and it hasn't been above 32 degrees for over a week.

I live in a town called lynnwood just north of seattle and we got hit worse than seattle did cause they got shadowed. So when they were dry we had 5". And we just got about 8 more over night and it's still snowing. We have about a foot now and it's still going strong. The worst part is it's really fluffy and like capt said, it's icy underneath. It's crazy outside. I got stuck on my gf's street today cause it's a hill, i had to put chains on to get out. I NEED WINTER TIRES, cause i'm using some Pirelli PZero Nero all seasons with about 75% tread left. And even with quattro i'm starting to have a really hard time getting anywhere.

Those roads similar to what we have now.

In my part of the globe, -25 to -30's for the last while, all roads are glistening, main roads are the worst glazed with ice, feels like the cars are floating at speed. (with winter tires)

yeah it's an A4, the front bumper gives it away. But i don't think he/she was doing anything wrong. These hills are really steep and you can't really do much. I started sliding backwards down my gf's driveway which is steeper than that hill. The only thing i could do was since i have a manual, get my car turned around and put it in first gear really fast and use my gear to slow me down.

Around here it's not always driver error. We have a ton of idiots, but we don't have a very good sanding or plowing system in the city here. We're not very prepared cause this doesn't always happen, and the hills are too steep and slick for plows and sand trucks. And the other problem is it warmed up for part of one day so the snow melted and got really slushy and wet, then it went back down to the 20's for a week and kept snowing...

ouch, either way i would hate to be that guy. i put my winter setup on the day before all of this great snow hit so i am lovin it! we got another 3-4" last night south of Seattle...
