    Some help with headlights?

Hey guys, I've encountered an interesting issue with my headlights, and I just wanted to ensure that I have covered all my bases. I have the Canadian version so OEM is halogen. The previous owner had upgraded to HID, but did a poor job. When I bought the car, the passenger side headlight would not come on, since our DRL's are the low beams. When I turned on the headlights, both would be working fine. Eventually, the passenger side light went out completely. I ordered a 6K kit and just stuck it out with one headlight. A couple of days ago, the driver side light went out as well, and this is about 2 weeks from the first one going out. So last night I get in there to swap everything, and turns out the bulb holder/clip has been wrapped around the bulb, which was sitting at an angle. Now I need to get a new clip from the junkyard, or maybe make one, but I don't know how. Also, the cover that goes over the high beam side doesn't lock on, because the bottom clips are broken, so only the top holder is keeping it in place, with the bottom part sticking out. Would this cause any major problems? I have the gap closed up with teflon tape, but it's only a temporary fix. Can I use a cover from an A4 or anything like that? I have the new kit that I'm going to swap in once I get a new clip for the low beams. If there is anything that I'm missing or anything anyone could add, please do, because I'm still learning about this car. Thanks.

    Re: Some help with headlights?

I'm going to try making a temp. solution with a paperclip tonight, but the original clips are done for, so could someone do me a favour and maybe post a pic of the holder clip. Would be a great help. I've looked at the highbeam holder clip and it looks like it might not be the exact same as the low beam, although they are both H7. Correct me if I'm wrong please.

    Re: Some help with headlights?

Hey MacDaddy, unfortunately I can't do that because I already pulled out the old HID kits because the wiring was all over the place since he didn't even bother to zip-tie it down or tape it. Also, the ballast was under the headlight housing but insted of using a screw to secure it, he only used double sided tape. The ballast had come loose and was moving around, so I just took everything out since I didn't want to risk leaving those in there. I'll see if I can get some pics tonite of the housings themselves, although its -10 with a 70km/h wind here, so it's like -20*C. Don't know if I'm going to be doing this tonight. Also don't have a picture of the H7 bulb holder so can't even make one. DAMN! Maybe a junkyard trip is in order tomorrow if I can get the day off work.

Could someone tell me if this looks like the correct holder for the low beam H7 on our housings. Thanks.
