Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hey Guys,
I wanted to know if anyone has swapped out the rear seat cover from a sedan to an avant? Is this possible??? BTW, I have a 99.5 A4 avant and the seats would be coming from an S4 sedan. TIA for the help.

You mean pop out the bottom cushion from an S4 sedan and put it in your avant? I would think that it would fit.

Find a local B5er and test it. Then post the results for the archives.

Nope, I meant to use the skin of a sedan rear seat and cover an avant rear seat with it. I'm sure that there would be some alterations needed to make this work, but was wondering if this is possible without much effort.

How's the Avant coming along? I hope you are enjoying it. I looked into this when I owned it, unfortunatly the rear back rest is totally different between the sedan and avant. the seat bottom is the same though.

I would love to see some recent pics of my old car.

^^^ I love the car, it's been good to me so far. I put on a custom Borla exhaust (2.5"), Koni /H&R, S4 headlights w/HID and clear corners, S4 17" wheels. I still have to install the S4 side skirts, S4 front bumper w fog lights, rear spoiler, S4 rear valence, chrome roof rack, GT28RS turbo, boost gauge, A/R gauge, Pioneer AVH-5700, and some other things. I just have no time to do all this... How's your B6 avant???

Let me know what you find out. I have an '01 A4 avant with cloth sport interior, am putting together an S4 leather interior. I have a rear set top/bottom from a sedan, have been wondering the same thing (about swapping covers).

    Thanks!

Well, I think that I have heard that the avant rear seats will fit on a sedan, but not the other way around. I was looking into getting a set of sedan 2 tone seats and trying to recover the rear of the avant instead. I think that it would be easier to find and cheaper since there are many more sedan options. I just have not found a cheap set to experiment on yet. I'll post back and share the info, if this ever happens.

    Re: B5 seat cover swap?

Here's the differance bc I have them. There is 3 headrest on an avant and 2 on a sedan. Also the rear latches are different. The avant uses a pole latch where the sedan uses a hook latch. I never thought of switching the skins but, I highly doubt that is going to be the best way. The best way would probally be taking the sedan latches and using them in the avant. I will post my pictures when I attack this after I get the alacantara inserts in.
