So I took my car to Audi because my rear passenger window will go down but wont go back up unless I pull it up, and once its up it always falls down. They told me it was prob the window regulator and since my warranty is up it was gonna be around 700 bucks!!!!! I said thank you and left...anyone know where I can get a window regulator so i can do this myself? Anyone done this before, any input...is it easy?

    Thanks

word of advice: make sure when you put the door panel back everything is exactly how it was before.. and also tight.

otherwise you are going to get some major door rattle=very annoying

    Re: Window regulator

I had the same problem, and had mine fixed at the dealer for a little shy of $400. Find another dealer.

Pretty easy to replace. Parts can be sourced easily too.

Try this article for the rear regulator: http://www.audiworld.com/tech/int66.shtml

    Re: Window regulator

dont go to the dealer. Just buy the part and replace it yourself. I did my front passenger regulator about two weeks ago. Wasnt really that hard.

    Re: Window regulator

I rigged the green plastic clip (which is what breaks) that holds the slug on the cable. Works fine now. Even buying the track, cable and clip is like 120 or something. It's a shame that you can't just buy the clip.
