Re: HELP!! A4 2.8 threw some codes(posted inside): cranks, sputters but wont start

What year is it? Where in jersey are you at?
The power supply t30 voltage code is bs (comes up every time you disconect the battery).
The misfires are probably coils going back. Have they been changed yet? Unfortunately you have to change all of them because they come in a 6 pack package. I'm ordering one from AP Specialties from A4rob (great seller) as soon as i get some money together. If you want, you can buy one from him as well or wait till i get mine, and i'll stop by and see if it will solve your problems - all depends on how urgent it is for you.
I had the following symptoms with the same TB codes (the throttle valve controller malfunction). It would start and die right away unless i kept tapping the gas. Even then it would eventually studder/shutter/sputter and die. Also wouldnt rev past 3k (thought it was the MAF at first - bought another one and no change). I wound up ordering 2 TBs and still have one laying around. I'll sell it to you cheap if you want to try it. Only problem is im in NYC right now and the TB is in State College PA. Im going back there for a few hours later this week so i can grab it and give it to you if you meet me either in NYC or somewhere on I80.
    Let me know.
The part number is 078 133 063 AK. The guy i bought it from said it came off a 99 2.8 MQ.

sorry, reread your post and saw that you have tip. I don't think the TB is the same. Call the stealer though and ask if the one i have will work for you (almost sure it won't tho). In any case i would say that that is definitely what is causing the majority of your problems. Try A&P or Tom's Autoparts (they're in CT) for the TB. Don't buy anything from Thoroughbred Auto though

Since you have the real RossTech cable and software, try to do a TBA first. The instructions are on the RossTech site all you have to do is go into the engine part(group 1), then pick some meas. block (forget which one), and "reset to basic settings."

So many systems having electrical problems? Seems to me like you should start checking the grounds.
