New '09 Avant Owner

So I expect to take delivery Monday / Tuesday of a 2009 WHITE, IBIS Avant A4 S-LINE Prestige ... already ordered StaSIS Ohlins for it + Milltek (with Singh tuning to amp performance).

Thinking of doing HRE Monoblok 19x9's in flat black / textured with Michelin PS2 R01's (255/35-19) - same as what is installed on my RS4 - thoughts? comments? flames?

OEM wheels and tires will be sold to whomever wants em.

The Avant will look nice next to my RS4 ...

The wheels depicted below are the ones I will sell ... I am told these are "19" with high performance Dunlops, (or other brand w/same performance rating)" - Price to be determined and I see that the bolt pattern is 5 x 112 - no clue on offset.

Not sure if they are the same fitments but I say take those off the rs4 and put them on the avant and change your rs4 rims to something silver but thats just my personal taste haha if not then yea those rims will look good on a white a4 especially since it will be lowered.

Glad to hear you like them. This will be my first set of 452's, but they seemed like a great tire for the price. I'm guessing you replaced those DPE's with the M40's? I vote for silver or brushed on your avant, but I'm biased.

Yep DPE makes a great wheel - I simply wanted a change which I got with the one piece HREs ... + I went from 20s to 19s - backwards but a good move for my purposes. I have the Michelin PS2s on the HREs and I will get the same tires for the Avant.

Nice! 19's are more practical for so many reasons, which is why I got them instead of 20's. PS2's are great, but too damn expensive for rubber.

Wow ... first impressions of the A4 AVANT are VERY positive ... and this coming from a dude driving a 2007 RS4! More as the days unfold along with PIX of the rig ... will order the HREs tomorrow, Milltek is en route from England and tuning to follow along with tinting. Suspension is actually quite good and I am a bit on the fence about switching immediately to Ohlins except for the fact that lowering it will be visually appealing.

The car is plenty quick - will get better with exhaust and tuning.

BTW, wheels are for sale too. I got a print out from RUSNAK that reveals cost is $456.75 EACH + DUNLOP SportMaxx GT 255/35/19s $273 each at TireRack.com - may need TPMS for a few extra bucks ...

Hmmm ... as you know / see, the OEM wheels fit in fairly nice in the wheel wells ... don't know if there is a diff btwn your sedan and this Avant but Eric (supremepower.com) and I are talking with HRE about the 9" width ... I may try the wheels, eye ball the results in terms of the SUV effect and then, if necessary / appropriate, install the StaSIS Ohlins.

And thank you for sharing specs data that you have gathered. When do your HREs deliver? Color?

i love the choice in wheels, but i'd go with a silver or brushed aluminum. although it would look mean with the black wheels, then you'd have to get black roof rails, tint the tailights slightly. but i wanna see pics of the bike?! you do wsmc or wera or anything like that? i'm trying to get into wsmc next year.

yeah ... still inclined to go HRE black ...

WSMC - years ago ... recently stopped riding altogether ... after of years of defying fate, I am still alive, no serious injuries, can use all limbs ... there's just so long one can do what we do riding at balistic speeds and given the facts that 1/ I don't get paid to race and 2/ there ain't no trophy girl waiting at the S/F line and 3/ I don't know how to ride slow or medium speed (it's just not in my soul).

Chuck Graves is a friend and client so I had access to some unique bikes. The one above was Aaron Goberts ... remember the year he got run over by Jaime Hacking and his brother at Daytona? My brushed M40's arrived on Monday and will be installed next Monday or Tuesday. The S Line wheels are 8.5" ET43mm. They looked pretty flush with the front fenders at stock height, but could have probably used 5mm spacers to look perfect. Once I dropped it, the camber probably gave me a few more mm of space. HRE wanted to use the factory offset in front, but I requested ET38 instead, and was too scared to ask for ET35 which I believe would look perfect. On 9" wheels, this translates to ET41-43mm depending on how aggressive you want to be. HRE wanted to use ET30mm in back, but I requested ET28. This translates to ET34 on 9". I honestly think you should use ET43 in front and ET35 in back if you don't plan to drop it or ET41 and ET34 if you are going to lower it. That's my opinion, so take it how you want.

LOL, those are just my opinions based on what I've seen and heard so far. I'll definitely have a better idea after next Monday when they're on the car. I will certainly post pics.

many reviews of the new a4 have been very positive. i am so glad audi did this car well. i am just hoping that when the s4 does come out, some good tuning mods do come out because the car i want right now is the m3 but hp to hp the m3 more compares to the rs4 but that thing is so far out of my price range.

Yes, silver powdercoat is darker than brushed. Can't go wrong either way!

Hey PESAPC!

My idea is to do the p40, matte, with a WHITE ring to separate the all black wheel from the blackness of the tire. If done right, will look classy and just beautiful. Looking forward to seeing the new project.

Naw ... decided to go SILVER HREs ... darker than brushed ... going right now to get it from the TINT dudes ... thanks for the suggestion nevertheless!

Don't know if I will make it to the Irvine deal ... it's possible but doubtful ... have to see how the week unfolds workwise.

So, been driving around today to get a sense of what up with this car ... it is NOT my RS4 but a VERY nice car!!! AUDI got this one right!

To build on base, my MODS in next 2-3 weeks WILL include:

• TINT ... done (pix to post)
• HRE SILVER 19x9 if I can make 'em fit
• OHLINS Coilovers _StaSIS
• Milltek Exhaust (need diverter valve)
• BBK when a system is released
