    Some O2 sensor Questions

Ive searched the forumns for a bit and couldnt really come up with a conclusion.

So i got a cel code for a faulty 02 sensor. bank 1 of 2, running too lean. Car is at 103k miles and i doubt that the sensors have been replaced be4.

Im gonna go ahead and replace both the front and rear sensors so i wont have a clean reading pre cat then shitty reading post cat by only replacing the front sensor.

Only question i have is going test pipe becuz the cat is getting old. Suggestions?

    me is confused :) LOL
are u asking about 02 sensors or about TP?
if u live were you have emissions test not only thru OBDII, then you wont pass it. If u are stage 1+ then you shouldn get a CEL from going with TP.
TP is just a pipi with nothing inside, CATS is a pipe with a "filter" inside.

    Re: Some O2 sensor Questions

the front sensor is the one that tells the ECU if you are running lean/rich; the rear only tells it if the cat is doing its job properly.

At 130k miles (coincidentally where I am also), both sensors are definitely due for replacement. Should you opt for a test pipe, you'll need to be running software which can mitigate the CEL you will otherwise get. And as mentioned above, you won't pass emissions testing with a test pipe unless you run software which "fixes" the CEL
