i hit a curb doin a donut yeterday pretty hard. when i spun the car around the back right tire and rim slammed the curb. no road rash on the rim. no flat tire. no visual damage. but when i drive now my car weres around i almost have no control over the direction the car goes. i kno this is very vague but if anyone can relate please help

You most likely bent something on your suspension, probably a control arm at least. Get it up in the air and have a look.

I was going to say an alignment issue whn I saw the thread but after the op said hit and curb in the same sentence I have to agree with this post. Probaly bent something, dependi g on how many somethings my guess is in the $250-500 range from a shop.

It's gonna cost you a couple hundred for the control arm if you get a new one, plus the cost of whatever else is bent, plus a few hours of labor, plus the cost of an alignment.

If you wondering how much damage you caused well that's another story.

But you probably bent a control arm or a suspension piece. Check the visual spacing between the front of the tire and the back of the tire in the wheel well on both sides when the wheels are straight on. Compare the hit side and the non hit side.

Like others have said, you probably bent a suspension piece. Most likely the lower control arm. You better hope that it didnt bend a suspension pick-up point on the body. My brothers friend did that in a Mustang and it ended up costing the insurance so much to fix it that they totaled the car. He got a check for a fraction of what its worth and was basically SOL. I doubt this is the case though. This is one time to be thankful for Audis terrible control arms. Good luck on getting it fixed...and find a bigger parking lot next time lol

i hit a curb doing the same exact thing. bent a wheel, snapped an axle, and wore out the tire because it was leaning to one side. cost me $3k. good luck with the fix

He might get away with not aligning it after repair, yeah. The subframe is the only thing that may need to be shifted for a true alignment and it's not that expensive at a dealer. But the other stuff would be...

i had a kid come into my job cause he did the same thing( but his car was an sti), he bent the rear spindle and sturt. i did an alignment after that and it was still way out. ended up being the rear subframe. i see youre in hartford, im in wilton you can def bring it by my job to have a look at it. you def messed something up and should have it looked at asap. pm me if you need any help

happened to my car hit the curb only going about 10 mph and hit it flush with the passenger side wheeled.

long story short, all my control arms fucked which i knew (and probably contributed to losing control).

then comes the alignment rack, they can get it to align on the back tires...rust and a very stiff suspension cause my rear subframe to snap...

end of the day $3000.

i dont know why anyone would get suspension pieces replaced without getting an alignment after. its cheap and its the most effective way to optimize tire life

Hey OP...it's probably your wheel bearing. A bad bearing allows top to bottom movement of the wheel, causing the wander. If you smack a curb sideways, you almost always screw up the bearing to some degree...
