Need to time my cams going back on my head after machine work is done. Can anyone shine some light on how to do that?

damn I just read this yesterday searching around for fun. Both arrows on the sprockets need be pointing up and there needs to be 16 pins on the chain. I think it was a post from a4tschuss.

If you have never done it before I highly recommend you pay someone who has to do it. It could be a big mess if you screw it up.

there is an arrow on each cam bearing cap and there are key ways (a notch) in the cam. The arrow and notch have to be lined up and there needs to be 16 links(pins w.e) on the chain between the 2 cams, you'll know when it's right when you put the cam gear on and valve cover on and it all lines up. shouldn't be hard to do. are they adjustable cams or nething? what kinda cams?

You beat me to it! You figure out your lifter issue?

The arrows depict TDC for cylinder number one. You set up the exhaust cam first and then set up the intake cam (also arrow in bearing cap aligned with keyway in cam... for OEM cams) and make sure you have 16 pins on the inter-cam chain between them.
