I'm planning on getting these mufflers with the stock exhaust system and later on do a testpipe. Will it sound/perform different at all if i just do the mufflers? I just want to do this for now as I'm on a low budget. Thanks

I'm going with the 14829 mufflers and a test pipe. Test pipe is going in today and I'm ordering the mufflers on Monday - 220 shipped for both.

    Re: Magnaflow 14851

yah it will sound good...but while your at the muffler shop you should just have them pipe 2.5" from the flex pipe and then two 2.25" where it splits to the 14851's...Thats what i have and i love it! It only cost me $250 for all the pipe and install + what i paid for the mufflers! so all in all you get a sweet exhaust system for under $500!!!

i just put my 14581's on.. i did it with a friend and we cut the stock off and the other middle muffler and just put straight tubing in.. in all it was like 40 bucks of supplies and a couple hours labor. Sounds so awesome, it takes a while to break in but you will hear them working well after

I just Google'd for a hottexhaust coupon code - I put two 14829's in the cart, entered my code "superhonda" lol - and it came out to $218 with free shipping - two dollars cheaper than performancepeddler.com. I might call PP on Monday and see if they can beat it.

Love my 14851's... I did a GB with a couple local friends (not AZ'ers.. One has a b6 1.8t and the other b7 2.0t) and I have the loudest lol... The turbo will quiet the sound a bit, but when your driving it in sport, or have it at 3500+ rpm the sound is pure bliss on the 1.8 and 2.0t! It cost us $100/muffler so we were super stoked! Your going to like it once its broken in and your ears are used to it!

Plus they look sooooo good on a stock b6!

sorry, no, the 16601 is a downpipe back kit.

i put the whole kit in, and used the clamps it came with. but it didnt come with a crossbar to properly seperate the mufflers

Performance Peddler counter-offered my eBay offer of $200 for both. "Francisco" said to call Monday and he could do $220 shipped. Think I might just do the HottExhaust route with the superhonda code.

My car will be at my local tuner until Monday - the cat bolts are soaking up some PB Blaster for the test pipe install.

maybe they had big sale when i bought them... anyways, $30 is not a big deal. honestly though, better get the rest of the piping, cause its not even loud with mufflers on.

Not going for loud - the test pipe is in preparation for my 1+ flash, and the mufflers are for appearance and slightly better exhaust note.

small resonator added in? How do you think it would sound with simply putting in the test pipe and 14829's?

Not that it makes a difference in sound, but I wrapped the test pipe with Summit exhaust wrap last night. Can't wait to get it installed. Shop was going to do it today after they did some other work, but they're starting on Monday. Didn't want to have a crappy end to their Saturday - test pipe installs suck!

i actually dont know... i remember someone was looking for videos with testpipe only...
anyways, mufflers will give u a bit louder sound/// testpipe should give u even more. But when u think about that tiny stock pipes, i dont even know.
maybe save up a bit, and get the rest of the piping, u dont have to go 3", 2.5" or even 2.25" would be ok, plus u would get more out of your ship/testpipe with bigger exhaust piping then stock.

Nope upgraded cross bar, and the muffler place was very anal about leveling them since they know im a serious perfectionist. We spent like 10min leveling them and making them perfect lol

    Re: Magnaflow 14851

Mufflers alone will make very little sound difference. I had the mufflers alone at first. You're gonna have to cut off the middle resonator off your exhaust for an extra $80ish to get the full sound. And you might want to search the testpipe thing because alot of them dont sound good on our cars unless it's the right setup. My favorite one is Neuspeed exhaust w/ testpipe. It just sounds perfect because the exhaust has resonators on it. If you keep the stock res. with mufflers and a tp idk how that will sound.
