A4 (2.0T and 3.2): what mileage are you getting?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm going for my first test drive of an A4 today. I'm tired of my Lexus GS continually getting stuck in the snow as I try to get out of my garage and alley. So gonna go check out the A4 (probably both the 2.0T and 3.2).

For those A4 owners out there, can you tell me what sort of real-world mileage have you been getting?

    Thanks

Re: A4 (2.0T and 3.2): what mileage are you getting?

    Excellent -- thanks.
From the reviews I've been reading, it seems like the difference in real-life driving between the 2.0 and the 3.2 is minimal. Seems like the 2.0T is the way to go! Getting decent gas mileage is important to me and it seems like the A4 is definitely the class leader in this regard...

Re: A4 (2.0T and 3.2): what mileage are you getting?

Keep in mind the B8 2.0T delivers slightly better MPG than the B7. Since you are coming from a V6 you may find the 2.0T not quite as refined or quiet as the A4 3.2L. It's a big improvement over the B7 A4 2.0T for a number of reasons but not quite the same as the V6. Let us know what you think.

On the 3.2 I am getting just over 20 in the city. I do not know about the highway but I am also driving in the winter right now, so I'd expect to see 22-23 in the summer.

    Depending on tuning.

Over 3K miles on previous oil change and manual recommendation for tuning specs:
27 mpg overall (avg 70-80 mph)

Most recent tune based on manual recommended specs:

29 mpg overall (avg 70-80 mph)

    Conditions:

High altitude--Denver Colorado Mile High city
    temperature--under 50 degrees (winter time driving--avg 30 degrees)
    humidity--avg 30 percent
fun factor--good times, most times (majority of times I look for anyone wanting to compete)

I'm at 5100KM (3150 Miles), no oil change yet, mostly running local (90% local, 10% highway), running on 91 octane.

Doing avg 470~480 KM (approx 300 Miles) a tank.... Thats 11.7L/100km (20 mpg).

Note that this running in Winter condition in Toronto... Too much snow!

    some impressive numbers

I can't imagine buying the 3.2. That 2.0T is a little miracle engine.

I definately cant agree with this...with my B7 I easily averaged 27-28 mixed 50/50...my current B8 with the same mix is 23-24. Definitely lower and I am very diligent about checking my gas mileage. I couldnt see this anyways as the B8 engine is bigger as far as HP and torque are considered.

For my 3.2, I am getting only about 14mpg (full city driving). I am a bit lead-footed but thats crazy poor. Car is stock except for 19" rims (but they are lightweight forged) so I have no idea what is causing this.

Wow, all the mileage threads and this one is resurrected.

I still get 25 mpg in summer, 23 mpg in winter. Driving is 20% college town, 80% country roads.

How about a thread on how many miles folks have gone past the "0 miles to empty" indicator? Me, about 15 miles... and I was nervous...
