It seems logical that the only way Audi can compete with the 135i is to stick it's new 3.0T in the TT. I would REALLY like to see this. What do you guys think?

The 135i is a clown shoe on wheels.

As for "compete", it is an entirely different market niche, so I'm not sure the bean counters would even consider it. The new TTS is ablout a close as you can get to "spec" comparison. It's 400 pounds lighter than the 135i already, has 181HP/tonne compared to the 174/tonne of the BMW. What's the problem? Seems as if the TTS is already there.

The one giveaway the TTS makes is torque. It comes it later than the twin-turbo 135i, and is 50 lbsft less. In spite of the that, the 0-60 time of the TT is 0.3 faster than the 135i. Top speeds are both electronically limited to around 155.

    135i? <YAWN>

As far as looks go, the TTS is all over the shoe. Get a shoe box, and send it back to Stuttgart. BMW will sell every one it makes, but I find it looks more like a door stop than a sports coupe. And it isn't a TT-beater.

Seems like Vorsprung der Technik already solved the problem "logically".
The Spartans do not enquire how many enemy there are. They enquire only where they are.

So what? Judging my 135i and TT sales I'd say the compact sports coupe sector is booming. Better yet let RS division get it's hands on it and really spruce things up. It'll be like back in the days of the B5 where the S4 competed with the M3 and RS4 was in a league of it's own. I'm sure the new Z4 is going to be really fast too, maybe the TT-RS could compete with that.
