Talking GSG True Cold Air Intake - Oh Yah! Giggty

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Ok, finally put the final product on my car after a long time of testing. I would like to mention, that the cone filter shown in the photos will not reflect the actual filter included for sale. GSG is still waiting on their filters, so I have the final pipe minus the filter, not such a big deal.

Huge increase over the intake pipe, quicker throttle, faster response. I have had the intake for quite some time now and have been loving it ever since. I will do my full review of the product, soon as well as a DIY if anyone can actually benefit from it. I know must people love pictures, so it will be detailed install DIY, just let me know if anyone wants it and Ill make it.

I will also dyno my car, but one dyno has been done before, I am sure Jordan will repost those photos here. Once I get a new baseline done and a retest of this, rest assure I will post up.

Any questions, comments, photo requests, etc let me know and ill take care of it.

So to get to what everyone wants to see, the photos: (Excuse the dirty engine bay and frame, etc)

No, the intercooler is near to the intake, but does not disturb the installation at all. What I will recommend (DIY will have more info) is to remove the headlight for easier positing, not needed but makes install easier.

I feel bad, I couldnt come through with pictures , but at least one picture has been posted to show its loveliness.

no, the final pipe is already made and ready, just the filter shown in the photos is not the actual filter GSG will be using. Also note, in the above photo 5th picture down from AFTER, is not connected and does not infer or signify any fitment problems. That photo, ties into a chain for my DIY. Lastly, all the wires shown were pushed back because some are for the goodies I have...

In short, pipe is final, filter is not.

    Does that clarify anything?

Yes it does. I just thought cause the pipe wasn't connected all they way maybe this was just a test fit.

Let us know how things go. Hopefully within the next couple months I'll be able to buy and intake, chip, and exhaust for my car.

Ya, it was my fault for not clarifying the pictures. But yes it fits perfectly and is installed on my car (minus the real GSG intake filter).

You are correct, you will need a FMIC to run this intake, either a GSG or other brand. This CAI utilizes the same air from the stock side mounts, giving the filter fresh air =)

im sure that this intake will sound cool and pretty, which is always a plus when it comes to the "oh shit that is cool" factor. but what i would like to know if any data logging was done to increase the amount of air flow effiency on this intake compared to stock. one example i was reffering to was the independent testing (or any testing done via VAGCOM) done on the carbonio intake.

    example : http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...arbonio+intake

i know the filter sits low, but i think reading the amount of g/s this intake yeilds will give a little more insight in its performance on the car.
