I'm gonna need justification from these vendors as to why door blades must be so expensive before I even consider buying them. They do look "different", but I'd only get them if I had run out of mods to do and had an extra $600ish (after paint) burning a hole in my pocket.

Actually there are a few guys were tried the ebay ones in the b6 forum and they were so horribly cheap and barely bigger than the stock ones, plus the fit wasn't perfect. Even though its steep for OEM, if you are gonna do it, do it right in this case.

I can try to explain why they're so damn expensive...

Theres a total of 4 doorblades, and each "doorblade" looks like it is composed of two pieces. One piece to mount to the door, and another piece on the outside, the visible part.

I've played around with injection parts in the past, and its true, these things probably have $15 of raw material, but 8 injection molded parts will require investment in the 5 figure ballpark. The way to get it to you for cheap, is by short cutting the manufacturing as demonstrated on eBay auction, and the second way is to have a group buy with 1000 participants

There is one simple reason why they are not cheap, OEM Audi Part. So no matter who you are buying them from still has to buy them from an Audi dealer.
