Oil filters the same for 1.8t and 3.0?

so i currently own 2 1.8t's. so for oil filters, i just get a 10 pack of large filters from ecs or w/e.

i recently picked up a 3.0 convertible, and was thinking about an oil change soon. the thing is, according to ecs, it doesn't use the same filter.

i was wondering if any of you guys know if this is true or not? i don't really feel like buying two different sets of filters, but i may have to. it would be awfully convenient if i could just keep buying 1 set and use them for all of my cars...

3.0 ilter is much bigger then the 1.8t

check the part number for 3.0 filter just incase.

The 3.0L one is about 1/4 bigger than the 1.8t.... I ordered one from ECS and accidently got the 1.8t and when I got the replacement EVERYTHING was the same except the filter diameter.

is that the overall filter diameter or the opening diameter?

Thats the filter diameter... The screw hole (opening diameter) was the same....

But I would keep going with the 1.8t filters if I was you, the 3.0 isnt designed to push high revvvs like the 1.8 so (dont quote me) I think the filter is designed to push more through.
