225/40/18 is what you want not 45.

I ran 225/45 18 on 18x8's a long time ago and it rubbed a lot. It also made my speedo off by 5 mph

Im running 225's on 8" wide wheels. I would not recommend it, they look really small on the wheel. For winter wheels I would recommend some 17's or some 16's with spacers. 16" tires should be much cheaper than 18", alsp the skinnier the tire the more the weight per square inch and the better traction you'll get.
