Bad Diverter Valve

So i was driving my s4 around today and i kept hearing a BOV noise. I checked my DV's and the passenger side DV doesnt hold the vacuum. Is it ok if i drive around for a few days with a bad DV?

its ok i guess just take it easy and stay out of boost. Get it fixed asap

I believe I had 2 bad DVs after chipping my car. Didnt take long to destroy the stock ones (oops). I just drove sensibly and did, in fact stay out of boost (sub 3k revs) and it was okay. I would agree, however, get them fixed asap. It doesnt take long, and it's something you could do in a quick night. (My install didnt go smoothly because they were kinda stuck onto the hose)

so how did you test the DV to see if it was working correctly or not?

mine made a hissing noise when they failed and the engine was running.

http://www.vaglinks.com/Docs/Misc/VA...rter_Valve.pdf Try this link. This is what i did. One of my diverter valves held the vacuum and the other didnt. I also noticed the bad DV was completely dry and was harder to take off than the good one.

it'll be fine to drive... just fix it as soon as you can... dont have to worry about taking it easy, nothing will break... just wont run to its full potential...

last year bought a apr r1 dv install and when the car accelerated very rare you hear a sound. (buuuuuuuuuuu or fuuuuuuuuuuuuu and disappeared)
and I said to myself what's that sound

two months after apr r1 dv remove and put the dv I had before and the sound is not never heard so

that apr is not whether they are new but are bad at this point is kept. and continue with my stock dv

sorry men i use translator becouse my english is very bad ok i try again in short version hjaha

i buy the apr r1 is brand new install and i note the extrange sound i keep install for 3 months i i hape the sound fuuuuuuuuuuu uuuuu and disappeared this happen when i pull the car hard or semi hard so i put bakc my old dv stock and
and these do not produce the same sound. oks no sound

you think is normal?

I would do what Xenon01 suggested and try this. If you pass this test, then your diverter valves are fine.

humm well my apr r1 after few months use, i keep in my closet for humm let me put back i try make a video but this take time
