Re: DIY mod for fog lights

I recently did this, well a buddy did for me. he pulled out the fog light module from behind the glove compartment and soldered a few things and snipped a few pins. I think it's the best to have control of the foglights, and it looks sick.

I think this may be what I did? But instead of ign power I used parking light tap from the glovebox light. Both wires only draw like .1 A or something.. works

Re: DIY mod for fog lights

I'll do the write up tomorrow morning
    its very easy.
    remove the glove box .
there is a big relay behind it the relay number is 600(on the back of the relay)
take relay out and look at the socket side.
pin 15 and 17 (both yellow wires) clip from the back of the socket and give them a power source.
I used ignition power, under driver side dash.
1st post of the 5 for power.

Re: DIY mod for fog lights

there is a better way...I did it by the book and soldiered a wire to connect the 1,2,5 posts (IIRC) on the board inside the box, then clipped some pins off.

Re: DIY mod for fog lights

why is opening the box and soldering any better? the 2 yellow wires going into the box are the signal wires from the headlight switch .Just give the ignition power and your all set

true...so you do just hook both yellow wires to the same power source?

Re: DIY mod for fog lights

    Awesome, Thanks!!

I was just thinking of doin this the other day..

I also wanted to do a HID conversion but I was
    A. Worried that it would be too bright
    B. Don't know what color on the spectrum the factory HID bulbs are, I would want them to be the same..
