OEM S4 and RS4 mufflers

Barely... If I were you, I was looking for something Stock looking that wasnt too loud like a 4 banger or rice rocket. The Magnaflow 14851's sound perfect... Not too loud yet, they sound awesome when you want them too

I hate the aftermarket look, which is why I want an OEM alternative. Makes the car look cheap. please don't take this the wrong way.

No not at all... Personally I love it.. I mean I dont go overboard with like Body Kits and Boser Carbon Fiber hoods, but my goal in the exhaust department was to get something smooth sounding that wasn't going to wake the neighbors when I drove up my street at 25mph in 4th you know?? So I ended up asking ppl about the S4 and RS4 exhaust.. I had the S4 put on because I was told by AZ'ers that it had some kind of "valve" that opened at 3000rpm+ to make it sound even better, but I noticed nothing and sold them to a friend... The RS4 ones looked the same as the s4 when i looked in a RS4 at the dealer, only difference was the tips. If your looking for stock look and a bit more noise consider removing the middle mufflers...

So did you notice a difference at all with S4 mufflers in performance? And you're saying the sound didn't change at all?

I am in the exact same boat as Hockenheim. I was thinking of doing the entire system and leaving the stock mufflers on and TP on too.

Getting bigger DP and mids are a big improvement but I am soooo scared the car is going to sound like a juiced up Integra.

I think your situation is also a little different because your A4 is a 3.0 V6 which is an entirely different setup making a diff sound.

if you want actual performance gains then just buy awe's quad tip exhaust while its on sale. if you just want looks, go buy the magnaflow whatever model number is the double tip and just order 2. s4 or rs4 mufflers were built for v8s and should not help our cars.

and if you wanted to know, they should fit.

there are some nice aftermarket exhausts, not sure why you would hate the look

sorry about diagram... obviously this thread doesnt leave the spaces where they should be.. It WAS a diagram, now its a whole lotta mumble jumble...

I didnt experience from what I could feel any gain (then again, I didnt take it to the dyno) ALSO sound wise... maybe a little, BUT only when I passed 4k and had it in triptronic.

Look at miltech... They have a REALLY nice OEM looking exhaust that I LOOOVVVEEE!!! but its a bit expensive...
