Anybody interested in STaSIS group buy?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm really happy with my exhaust and Ohlins SLs. A few of my friends that rode in my car are looking to buy the same setups. I talked to the guys at STaSIS and they are willing to run a few GBs if there is enough people interested.

I haven't worked out the details on the suspension yet but for the exhaust details are as following.

STaSIS Exhaust GB for B7 S4.(http://www.stasisengineering.com/Cat...ID=213&PID=187)

If we can get 10 people they can offer a price of $1,200 shipped. Retail is $1,395 and shipping is typically $125 so that's over a $300 savings. If we can close this up with all 10 people before then end of the month they'll throw in a set of STaSIS floor mats for each of us for $75 for those interested (retail is $179).

The exhaust is awesome! Sounds great outside while having no drone in the cabin.

Here are a few videos I found on youtube.

If you are interested post in this thread and PM me your email address and phone number. After we have 10 people lined up we'll have STaSIS process the orders and get them shipped out! Everything is in stock!

Re: Anybody interested in STaSIS group buy?

Yes very interested in the SL's. Can you provide some overall opinion of the reason you went with them versus another set-up? Ride quality etc?

I know there are many out there who think the MotorSports would be overkill for the person who doesn't track their car but still wants a high performance suspension (seems the SL's would be a logical next best choice)

    Any information is appreciated.

I would very interested in a great GB deal on the SL's, too. Especially, if they would do a further discount if I pick them up directly from Stasis they are ~ 1hr away from the City.

The guys at STaSIS will tell you that same thing, the Motorsports are only really necessary if you track the car heavily. I've ridden in cars with the motorsports and I have the SLs, and there's really not much difference on the street. The thing is, 99% of people with Motorsports NEVER touch the dampeners after they're installed. they leave them on the stiff setting and forget about it since it's not necessary. Don't get me wrong, the Motorsports are an AMAZING suspension set up...but, so are the SLs! I have NO regrets saving the extra money and getting the SLs since I have yet to track the car. This is a great opportunity and anyone that has been debating STaSIS should take it. I'd be happy to answer any questions on the STaSIS parts too

I have had the SL's on my B6S4 for about 9 months. The handling is much improved, but the ride is jarring and embarrassing (with mom and/or wife on board) over any imperfect road surfaces. I am not really happy as the kit is more performance oriented than I thought. I wish I went the extra mile and got the Motorsports - at least I could have some control over the dampers. Don't believe anyone that says the ride is better than stock, plush or any other bull. It is responsive, firm and jarring at times. I have 235/35 19 RS-GT's and PS2's and believe it or not, they ride better with the SL's than the 18" Avus/Conti set.

I highly recommend riding in a car that has them first over imperfect roads you are familiar with. Know what you are getting into - don't just go by what you are reading on these forums (like I did).

Hmm...I've given multiple people interested in the SLs rides in my car, I've even let a few drive it, and each one of them has told me they were amazed at how good the ride quality is with the aftermarket COs. You're obviously going to lose some quality with increased stiffness and increased rim size, but it's just something you have to deal with. Even the motorsports are gonna be rough at times and the dampeners don't make it A TON smoother. My parents and girlfriend didn't even notice a difference (and my dad was a mechanic for 20 years). I think you may want to check other things about your car (UCA bushings, tie rods, etc.) because that can cause a very rough ride. Honestly, i don't see any reason why you should be getting an overly jarring quality with the SLs.

agreed. from what I remember, the SL kit is supposed to ride better than MS kit, since it was not designed to be a track kit.

Sorry not trying to thread jack- nevertheless-
NgNg's look elsewhere assesment: " (UCA bushings, tie rods, etc.)"

Begs the question: is there a concensous about changing (on a S4 with 28k) UCA bushings & tie rods at the same time as the coilovers?

Haha, that was actually my comment, so ill reply. The UCA bushings on these cars aren't real good. These should be checked even without COs (mine tore before my mods were put on). However, that being said, adding aftermarket suspension increases the camber problems since it cannot be adjusted. It changes the pivot point of the arm and places greater stress on the bushings. So...in short, everyone should have these things checked regularly, as they are common problems and should be covered under warranty.

Sorry S4DTM! Thank you for the thoughtful answer!
I will have Rector take a look at UCA bushings, ASAP. Nevertheless, In light of your info, if I upgrade CO's is there a better aftermarket bushing choice?
    Thanks!

Good question! (and sorry to thread steal, not meaning to overrrun it, just tryin to give helpful advice). So as for aftermarket bushings, there is a polyurethane bushing made by a company named K-Mac. However, I DO NOT recommend installing these with COs. My buddy installed them on his STaSIS S4 and they caused some problems. What happen is, the K-Macs are too good at doing their job, meaning they are too tight. When these bushings are tight, it buts A LOT more pressure on the others and thus causes the others to tear quickly. Now the obvious question is, why not just change out all of the bushings to the poly ones? Well, because then that ride quality that's pretty damn good with the SLs will be like driving an S4 on a rocky mountain road all the time. Because the bushings have very little give, they wont allow much travel for the arm. SO, that being said, my honest opinion is to stick with the stock bushings. They will last you a good amount of time and aren't too expensive to fix (and like I said, are covered under warranty).
