If you friend has a car with a flash on it , would it be possible to use limmiwinks to read everything u need then apply the same settings to a non flashed car ?

    Re: Transferring a reflash

if you both have the same ecu code you may be able to swap ecu's and have a shop re-set the immobilizer. But unfortunatly you can't just read the info and transfer it to a new ecu using lemmi's.

im just now reading what lemmiwinks is for , i didnt know if it was similar to a program called Open ECU or not. with that program u can scan a friends car apply it to yours and tweak as needed. Open ECU is being used by EVo and STI right now i dont know if it will work on the Audi

your going to have to break down and buy a flash from one of the major companies. APR, GIAC, REvo, etc...

    Re: Transferring a reflash

i have another post on here about a GIAC 1.5 chip , its possible my car already has this in it i have not taken the ECU out yet. The car has been getting horrible gas mileage and is completely stock. I was trying to figure out what i could use to tweak this because in the lower RPM in second the dash tells me im getting 9 mpg ... in second on a flat road under 2k rpm

so i am wanting to see whats going on i think its dumping a bunch of fuel and running rich under 3k rpm

I just got my cable and now im trying to learn the limmiwinks software, i was just wondering if it would be easier to scan my friends car put that on there and then tweak it

    just found this

logging the actual vs requested boost will give you an indication if you have a chip or not. log block 115. logging block 020 will give us some ideas of what the timing looks like too.

You may want to figure out the underlying problem before just adding/subtracting fuel or timing.

Sadly you cant just copy and paste flash software as the tuners embed values in the tune that are specific to your car VIN and immobilizer.

copy software ? there is no software to copy. just take the settings out of one ecu and load them into another
