I'm thinking about planning to go atleast stage1, most likely stage1+, I know everyone says don't try to mod the CVT tooooo much, and I agree, I DO NOT want expensive problems in the future, so, smalllllll mods.

I'm posting this to ask all CVT members about their experience (positive or negative!)

I really need to be informed about my vehicle!

    THANKS!!! all c/c welcome!

    Re: '04 A4 1.8t CVT

    I have a CVT.
Mods are suspension, Revo Stage 1 and a test pipe.
    the power is nice.
And FWD is so much fun, I know everyone here is crazy about Quattro but I live in miami so I don't really need it.
And I destroyed an MkV GTI yesterday on the highway so the power is good, plus i can always go stage 2

i have the same car as you collins.i just installed a boost gauge and i push 10psi max on stock, i wonder if getting chipped would increase max psi off stock turbo...?

Anyways, im considering doing the same thing as you but don't want to blow up trans or anything else

    Re: '04 A4 1.8t CVT

I've got lots of mods to my CVT.. it's pretty quick and haven't had any problems other than the TCU failing, but that wasn't due to mods.

I believe the revision Rs are more robust than the stock ones.

sure are. just grab a couple as spares, no need to go out and replace them right away.

or look into STI coilpacks, thats what i have and have no problems

I replace them when they die, not sure if they should be replaced after a certain period of time or anything, don't think so.

I've got the same car, 2004 1.8T CVT FWD, haven't chipped it yet, but when I do I'm planning on doing a stage 1+ and replace the injectors.
