[Pics] Ice Storm - Massachusetts

So I don’t know if people have seen much about the ice storm that hit us here in New England but it was pretty messed up and destroyed a lot of my town, 60% of us are still without power (me included, thank god for generators). But I decided to snap some pictures of what it looks like in my area (and yes you can kinda see my car in some pictures)















To top it all off it snowed like 4 days after, but here is what the front of my car looked like.. (and I know some may not like the euro-plate but I do)(btw the cars name is Black Betty that’s why it says BLM-A-LAM)





The pile of tree crap we had to clean up (will make a nice fire come spring)



All while these girls just sit in the nice ice free garage. We’re getting a foot of snow tomorrow so I’ll be able to take them for a joy ride (after the Audi that is)

I was with the National Guard in Lunenburg (and Holden) walking around with chainsaws trying to help clear roads, driveways and front doors - Maybe you saw us? Anyway, some of you guys out there got hit pretty hard. Holden was much worse in some areas and better in others. Last I heard there's been one death and I'm sure many more injuries.

I hope you're ready for the storm tomorrow night. Winter hasn't even officially started yet and it seems to be a bigger bitch than ever. Hopefully we're experiencing the worst of it now, I hate winter.

Yeah I have seen groups of you guys around town a lot lately. I have got to say thanks, I can only imagine how much longer I would be in this mess if it wasn't for all the help people are giving us.

I'm also amazed with all the electrical tucks that came from all over to help us. I have seen places like Ohio, Michigan, and I even saw Tennessee today. I work down at the mall and that's where a lot of the trucks met up on the first day. It was so strange because there was like 100 electrical trucks that took over our parking lot.

Speaking of electrical trucks, there are some people running scams. I read in the news that some guy is going around offering to restore power and that a fee is required, after taking the fee he just leaves. It's sad people would take advantage of a situation like this - but from the looks of it, for every scum like that guy there are hundreds of good people offering help.

Ur not alone though brother, for the first time in a long time it rained for a couple days straight here in Los Angeles and it was actual rain not a few sprinkles, we don't see this during the winter and it is like 45 degrees here this is nuts! glad ur lawn is green lol!

P.S. that is the first time i've ever seen an icicle before in my life aside from TV.

damn ive never experienced any of thoes back home but many blizzards...should be better when you get some snow tomorrow.....good luck and have fun on the snowmobiles

Im still without power too, and in some areas it can take weeks..

A week later and they still haven't restored most of the power and still haven't completely clear the streets.

Thanks to the national guards for their help cause Unitil didn't do shit.

I second that, I have been in some crazy storms here in utah, but nothing like that! all I know is that in Utah, we get to ride powder in the mountains all the time! YAY

Yeah I was surprised too when I woke up to see no ice or anything on the grass. No worries we will have a foot of snow by tomorrow :) lol
