Re: Question for those of you with 18"+ wheels

im planning on leaving my spare 17" as the spare, I could never get a solid answer if an 18" would fit in the spare tire well. But the general consensus is running a smaller diameter spare will be fine for a few miles

Re: Question for those of you with 18"+ wheels

I have a full sized 18" CH sitting in my spare wheel well. The stock 17's wouldn't clear the stoptechs

Stock as spare is just fine, unless you upgraded to a BBK that the stock Avus will not clear. Another thing to keep in mind is to carry a set of stock lug bolts in the kit if your aftermarket wheels uses non-stock bolts.

I had my spare Fikse with a 235/40/18 tire fit in the tire well, but it's really tight. I took it out because it weighs 45lbs and I have Road Side Assistance from AAA anyways . . .

Well, I guess you can always just rotate the tire if it doesn't clear the front BBK.

    THanks for the responses.

Eventually, if you want to, yeah get a 5th wheel spare. That way, there's no real rush to get it fixed, you can just keep the spare on and get it fixed when it's convenient. When I got a flat, I limped it home and switched to my stock wheels for a day until the new tire came in.

Re: Question for those of you with 18"+ wheels

    I'd go with an 18...

18" B7 RS4 rep fits in the trunk... As long as the tire isn't brand new you should be fine...

Good advice, I forgot to mention that. I accually picked up stock lugs a few months before my tire blew luckily.

Re: Question for those of you with 18"+ wheels

I have a fifth 18" wheel that has no "protection" on it (no rubber). I actually will use it just in case I bend a wheel because the roads here in WI are so fantastic!! ::cough, cough (sarcasm):: Right now i have no spare tire in the car because the JL HighOutput Box for my w7 is massive and heavy and a pain in the a$$ to get out to try to get to the spare.

What happens when I have a flat you ask....
I get on my cell phone and call AAA for a tow! LoL Might as well use it, I pay for it right?
