    Re: Anyone install their ACAs?

B6's have the same problem. It's not so much a chassis specific problem, it's the properties of metals and the effects the elements have on them. It's inevitable unless you take precautions. When I installed my suspension, I took the bolt out and hit it with some antiseize in case I would need to take it out in the future. For an 04, it shouldn't be too hard to come out depending on weathee conditions where you are. Get some PB Blaster on hand just in case.

    Re: Anyone install their ACAs?

Yea, if you have trouble turning it out, try a couple hits with a rubber mallet on the end where you take the nut off. I have a really hard one that I use and a bolt that was on it's last days will come out with lots of rust dust. If it won't turn do not try to hard or you can snap the head of the bolt off and that's when the fun really starts. When it's out, clean out the hole with some wd-40, let it dry and antiseixze the bolt before you put it back in.

It's pretty straight forward. I can do it in about an hour per side, that's an estimation. It should take just as long as it take to install a suspension if everything goes smoothly because remember you will have to pull the top of your coilover out to take off the control arms.

Thats half the reason why I don't buy horribly expensive tires. The camber just ruins them so quick, you barely get to enjoy them. However, the constant rotations do help a lot. But still I should be getting more life from tires. Let us know how it goes.

I know some people had problems when combining the CPP ACAs with progressive springs, such as the Streetsports, that are "wide" at the top.

Greg, these are supposed to be slimmer at the end to allow clearance for the spring. Chris chime in

NOW you mention that to me. I have CPPs in a box in my basement that will be coupled with those StreetSports.

EDIT: Just saw Mike's post. Nice. Guess no worries for me.

I know i had some trouble and so did another member on the forum. For starters.. i tried using an air hammer, no luck , tried heat, no luck.

What i end up doing is cutting the head off, pushing it through with the air hammer and keep on cutting up the bolt. Replaced the bolt with a fully threaded bolt so that wont happen again. Any questions send me a PM.

Those look nice by the by.

    Re: Anyone install their ACAs?

is a threaded bolt a good idea in there? i figured some antiseize would take care of it..

u are up north arent up? im hoping mine arent that bad since its a southern car.. i dont have an air hammer either!

i also gotta order some center caps for those rims, there are two different styles on ebay and i dont know which to get, one has a chrome lip, the other is all dark grey

Measure/find out what ur center hub diameter is on ur rims maybe that will help narrow down ur choices...
GUD LUK on the ctrl arms I'm planning on just the regular full ctrl arm refresh with some coilover kit/swaybars @ the same time.

Get an air hammer, you will have a better time. I am up north so I don't think you will have as many issues as i did. What i would do is get an air hammer on one side of the bolt and a impact wrench on the other. While you are turning the bolt push it out with the air hammer. Thats how my buddy at the dealership does it, so he says. You can always return the air hammer after your finish.

Secondly never had an issue with the bolts ive got 20k on them or so and not a issue. They are grade 8 bolts I belive hardened steel, i think if i ever have to replace my control arms etc it will be alot easier.

    Re: Anyone install their ACAs?

Before you cut that head off, or you cut that bolt in anyway try everything possible. Once you cut that bolt there is no other way out.

I dont remember 100% what the bolt size was but heres etkas knowlage. The bolt i bought was a tad bit longer because they didnt have the exact size, and like i said before i have had no problems to this day knock on wood. The friend that helped me with this on his lift, did an S4 and same deal, same size compleatly threaded.
