Hey everyone, I just want to make sure that everyone on here was aware that there is a new racetrack being built out east of Denver. Its called High Plains Raceway, and its located about 60 miles east of Downtown Denver.
They have recently paved the track and it will be open this spring. It was organized and funded by a collection of sports car groups around the area. Each club, like the Porsche Club for example is given certain weekends that are all to them. CAMA is the entity created in 2003 by the group of five amateur clubs which were the majority users of Second Creek. These clubs are: Motorcycle Roadracing Association (MRA), Porsche Club of America, Rocky Mtn. Region (PCA-RMR), Rocky Mountain Vintage Racing (RMVR), the Colorado Region of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA), and the Multi-Car Club Alliance (MCCA). The Multi-Car Club Alliance is a collective of eight other car clubs, specifically: the Alfa Romeo Club of Colorado; Audi Club; BMWCCA, Rocky Mountain Chapter; Colorado Exotic Car Association (CECA); Lotus Colorado; Mercedes Benz Club of America, Mile-High Section; Viper Club, Colorado Region; and the Z-Car Club of Colorado. However, during the weekdays the track should be open to the public.
The website has links to a couple videos that show what the track is like from the drivers seat. Its looks like a fantastic track with some serious elevation changes. It should be excellent.
