Auto dim mirror install?

This is a long shot, but I find myself really missing the auto dim mirrors that my S4 has when I am driving my A4. Has anyone ever though about or actually installed the auto dimming feature in a non-auto dim car?

The mirror can be retro fitted, just needs to be wired up by the dome light.

The screen fitting is the same across almost all of the VAG range except some of the higher end vehicles with auto lights and wipers etc.

I knew that the mirror would fit, but I was curious as to if all the wiring was there so that all the mirrors would dim?

None of the wiring is there already sadly, it has to be added

Damn, I figured that would be the case. All in all, I would probably just be better off tinting my windows, haha. Thank you for your info.

It wasnt hard to add the wires, but the side mirror glasses were expensive as i had to buy new from a stealer (£60 so prob $100 ish Each )and run the wires from the int mirror to the side mirrors to that they dip when the int mirrors senses the light etc

I already have the dimming side mirrors...maybe it's not all that hard after all then. I just have to source the rear view mirror now, or get a compas one for the S4 and put the S4's in the A4, lol.

Haha, thank you. My goal is to get them as close as possible. I was even thinking about picking up an other set of those wheels....might be pushing it but it would be amusing. The A4 now has the CC mod, rear lip spoiler and is about to be lowered this weekend. I am also doing brakes in all four corners as well as the timing belt service.
