Previously, I posted about my late boost issues,
and of course, how I uncovered the source of my late boost issues may been the stupid stock Mufflers.
I have 3" pipes everywhere, except the mufflers, which pose as the largest restriction.
Anyway,
Was wrenching at the car this week.
Found the bolt holding the wastegate actuator backed out about 2-3mm.
There are two of them holding the Wastegate actuator Arm onto the Turbo housing itself.
I could only tighten the one on the bottom, but not the one at the top. I wish I would have found this last few weeks when I had my turbo out, so I could have tightened it then. Now I have to pull the damn turbo out again just for one bloody bolt.
After I tightened up that bolt, i went for a quick drive. Full force.
I had my MBC set at 20psi before.
This time, it shot up to 24!!!!!
I backed off as soon as it hit above 22.
Can somebody tell me 2 things.
1. Which way adjusts the wastegate actuator arm tighter? Looser?
2. How does tightening the Wastegate bracket increase my boost to 24 psi, instead of where I left it, at 20 ?
KEY:
Red arrow: Actuator bracket lower bolt that I tightened. The upper bolt could not be acccessed or pictured in this lovely spread. (photo skills abound, I went under the car to shoot me a wastegate actuator and wastegate arm) No really, camera phone. Don't hate the shooter, hate the Equipment.
