    Just an RS4 Grille...

Question...i'm selling an RS4 grille in the classifieds and its barely getting any bites. so i figured id ask you guys if i used paint thinner on the outer edges would it get the brushed aluminum look back...?

-unfortunately i wasnt able to put it on due to a new mod idea, but it was originally "Frizholy"'s grille and its in great condition. he did a great job painting the outer trim and the rings. just a few paint chips on the outer trim from daily driving thats all

I've never seen the RS4 grill, but I'm guessing that the trim is probably plastic with that weird "chrome" coating? Why are you trying to get the chrome back?

What was the grill painted with? The thing with plastics is that you have to worry about melting them. I used to build model cars when I was little and some plastics will melt in paint thinner while others will be just fine.

I would take the time to convert it into a non-sline grill, I'm sure a lot of people would want a pre-prepared RS4 grill for their cars.

the plastic used, is most likely polycarbonate, not a 100% sure, but thinner burns and deforms poly
    OEM is sexy.

i think the outer trim was painted with black dupli color spray paint...if i can sell as is that would be great. the outer trim can also be swapped in case you guys were wondering. i figured id get more bites if it were the aluminum look again thats why

    Re: Just an RS4 Grille...

so im just going to leave the grille as is, not going to toy around with thinner.

bump...need to get rid of this!

by the way, the grille trim can be swapped out with your original s-line trim if wanted to do so

Do you have email? I'm interested in your grill, but have a few questions.

    Thanks,
