Those are a lot of assumptions.

UNI has 2 techs, LEVI and Stephan. Mike Z and Mike S are owners. Mike Z is the tuning brains and the one who writes the files. Having a 2001.5 and having spent many hours on the rollers at Uni tuning the car all I will say is I am more than happy, satisfied and always get support if needed.
If the owner of the car you're looking at owns a shop, than I would go over the car and take it for a test drive. Look at al records, service, receipts and get an idea of what you're getting into. How quickly can you pick up a new platform and feel confident fixing it when need be? The 01's are not to bad at all. Those babbling on about Journal Bearing setups are a bit oldschool and worried for naught, as long as you cool down properly nothing changes.
Also keep in mind the quoted "stages" that were posted in here about 3 times are for the B5 S4, not the B5 A4 1.8T. Last time I checked we didn't run piggies or PJ K04's. We have 1 DP and 1 turbo. The other one lists k04's as STG3 which is way off. STG3 was derived from APR's kit comprised of a GT25, which is now the Gt28. They now offer a STG3+ for DBW cars, anything that is a GT30and above is looked at as a BAT. All Gt28-30 as BT, anything over a 3076 is pretty much looked at as a BAMFT. At this point it's a blur as so many BT's are now in the BAT club etc.... Basically any car GT30 or higher is in STG4 territory and from there the sky is the limit:) To much whinning over stages it seems. I am stage shite eating grin myself:)
