e-brake light wont go away, what's the problem?

First of all, i forgat to turn off my car by leaving keys in it and thinking it was my TT running. So my car was idleing for 5 hours, when i got into it and released E-BRAKE it was still saying that it was on, i tried couple more times and it still didnt go away. Start driving with no problems at all. So now im home searching for sensors' location or what ever else may cause the problem, no luck so far...

Anybody had that happend to them?

First get rid of the TT, it's not needed in our cars and could be unsafe. It sounds like the button under the handle may have stuck, also check you brake fluid level it coincidentally might be low.

Brake cable may have seized and won't completely release. You may still have the ebrake only lightly engaged, just enough to trigger the display to activate. Need to have that checked ASAP before serious damage is done to the rear rotor.

That light also comes on when the brake fluid is getting low. Maybe check for a leak or see how much life your pads have left. Mine kept coming on and beeping at me when i was driving up hills so i checked the pads and the rears needed replacing. I changed them and it went away.
If you think the brake is stuck on maybe try parking on a very slight decline/incline to see if your car rolls as you are used to.

wow...what a conicidence i started a threat about this like 15hrs ago. its either the pads are low and its warning u. or its break fluid is low. or a wire problem.

Like Drtybrd said there is a switch under the handle, there is no sensor on the ebrake on the rear rotors just the actual brake components as far as I know from when I did my rear brakes a while back... good luck

I know the rear pads don't have sensors. I figured that the fluid was getting lower cause the pads were wearing down. Sorry if I was unclear.

The brake light will also illuminate it the pressure differential switch in the master cylinder sees a difference in pressure between the two halves of the master cylinder...but this is probably not the case...but its just good info!
