Audi Nav Plus-it's official- I hate it

I've used 3 other nav systems, Nissan, Lexus and Pioneer portable. This one in the Audi makes me nuts. Mine is the factory one in a 2008 S4 Avant. Will someone program in 725 21st NW in Washington DC and then tell me how the F#$%#@^!!!!!!!!! you did it?

actually eff that...I just went into my car and it was easy. Got it in like 20 seconds (that's about as fast as the thing moves

1. enter city (washington DC is way after all the other washington XXX listings
2. enter street as 21 and the list pops up...select 21st...(don't worry about NW yet)
3. enter street number
4. choose NW or SW etc.
5. NAVIGATE!

says I'll be there tomorrow at 9:25am. See you then.

Damn, I apparently missed it. I was in a hurry and probably just kept scrolling past. So there's no way on this one to look up things by zipcode or phone number? Phone number search was really useful.

you could easily have missed Washington DC because it wasn alphabetically after a bunch of other shit...not sure why. It's the last Washington I think, so scroll your ass off.

there probably is a phone/zip lookup (zip is so easy...I agree), but I don't know it yet. Haven't gone through the manual thoroughly. Have you SEEN that book??? it's like 100 pages long!

Really? I love my nav plus. The one in my Turbo is horrible.

Wow, it doesn't strike me as very likable. I'm going to have to spend some time with it during the holidays. I like my Avant, so the Nav thing just grates on me. That and the iPod interface that just lists tracks. I'm going to try the tip mentioned on here of converting to MP3 on SD cards at some point to see if that takes care of it.

yeah ipod thing FTL!

but the MP3 cards are awesome. folders and hierarchy the way you have them in your ipod.

So, now it's hating me back.

Today I'm listening to the news in traffic and decide to bail on the interstate and take back roads so I push Nav button on RNS-E. When screen comes up I push upper left directional button to bring up some previous destinations in memory, select one and wait, wait, wait.......

The whole unit is frozen with the button illuminated, the Nav screen showing and the news station playing. The only button on the whole unit that works is the mute on/off button. However, if you turn it off, and restart it (even after shutting off engine and restarting) the unit comes back on instantly in the exact same condition (i.e. it doesn't boot up). Nothing else on the whole unit works. AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHH!

Anyone ever seen this before?
