    Wink fuel pump question

    hey, guys i just put in my new fuel pump car runs now, got "ripped off" at the stealer for $262. Now i can hear the fuel pump run, its pretty noisy is that normal? Also do i need to get a new filter? thnaks.

    Yes. If you're changing the fuel pump, also change out the filter. What you're hearing is the strain of the fuel pump due to a clogged filter. If the filter is not changed, you will burn out the fuel pump and have to replace it again. Get this done ASAP!

    hi all
    this is my first post :) so be nice to me :D
    i didnt want to create new thread.
    so i decided to change my fuel pump cuz making some strange noise.
    question, which one i should buy ?

    pump 1
    or
    pump 2


    2nd pump cheaper but it says without gasket, can i use old gasket? or should i buy 1st ?

    make sure you order the correct pump. FWD and Quattro pumps are DIFFERENT!!!

    i have the filter already.
    but i dont get it, what does it mean fuel pump without gasket,
    are they talking about fuel tank cover gasket? does it cost 70$ ?
    cuz that how much different is in price.
    so ? :)

    Hey OP did u change out ur filter and it is still making noise? How many miles are u?

    Mine started after 60k and it was the fuel filter. That is COMMON on here with our cars. Usually the fuel pump just cuts out or u might get a code but for the most part a noisy pump is the fuel filter.

    Mine was good... still is good till I traded up at 110k. So u might have some life left in it still.

    i did change filter last week, but noise didnt go out, i took out back seat to see whats going on so its fuel pump making that noise.
    but i dont want to spend 70 bucks more for nothing :)

    Guys I have the same problem on mine it's the whirling sound/vibration underneath the passenger rear seat...does it make sense to go with a high performance fuel pump instead? They seem to be cheaper?
