Canadian Tire... what a rip off

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
My car is too low (with the kit) so I cant get my jack under it, so i gotta get someone to change my wheels (to stock wheels with snows)... and they were going to charge me $40... kinda high I think, but whatever!
They call me back 3 hours later saying that they cant get the car on the hoist cause its too low! Ok... I've been threw this before so I tell them to use some plywood or 2x4 or something to assist (which I have done many times)... they call back and say, sorry, cant be done, if you want your wheels change they have to do them individualy and it would cost $120... LOL
what a joke... $120 to change 4 wheels.... no mounting, no balancing, just take one set of and put another one on!

For the guys that have the same problem, what do you do?
have you purchased a low jack (if so how much, and are they worth it)?

    thanks for the feedback!

I bought a low profile aluminum race jack from... dun dun dunnnn... Canadian Tire lol. Works great and have definitely made good use of it. I think it was $170 or something with a discount of some sort

I'm pretty damn low too, but I bought a low profile jack from murrays, and it works just fine. If you are too low and have a body kit, I'd just change it myself by rolling the car on a 2x4, and then put a jack under it then. 40 bucks is redonk, I get my wheels swapped at discount tire for free! when you buy tires from them.

Thats why their called Crappy Tire and I never got anything done from them for my car.

Just go visit any indy tire shop and theyll do it for you for the same price or cheaper. And they will most very likely know how to get a low car onto a hoist.

    2. You shall never physically defend yourself.

    3. You shall go to jail if you do not obey #2.

    4. You shall never let anyone get on your lane.

Also, the mecanics have a % on every parts they install .

They score the worse with a bunch of consumer protection agencys.
Case in point, unplugged battery...canadian tire repair cost $800.

Stay away for crappy tire like the plague.

I went to Home Depot and bought a 6 foot long piece of 1x8

Had them slice it at a 60 degree angle in the middle and made 2 ramps.

Same here, the ideal is to use wood and then jack, but where were you trying to lift from anyways (or them). You can surely grab the jack points under the rocker, if not how low are you? Getting under the car to the sub frame or chasis may be an issue but again the wood helps, also the low profile jack is essential.

I have used the costco one for about a year, the same one is sold in canada by princess auto, and so far so good, it has taken alot of abuse, as for the canadian tire jack, I hade a buddy buy one and the seals began to leak fairely soon.

Just a side note, unless you want to have problems with your car, NEVER TAKE IT TO CRAPPY TIRE!!
