Sno drift of GTRS...Loud turbo?

So i went out for a little snow drift, and took some videos. I've never really listened to my car from the outside until this video. And the turbo/intake certainly sounds like a dentist drill?? Worrying...hmm Car boost up to 24psi just fine though. Or is it on its way out? Heres the video, let me know what you think.

yeah, you sound fine man, the elims are allot louder then the K0x turbos. I remember the first time i hear my car from the outside, it was like "WOW!". if you get the chance, have a buddy to a few passes/takeoffs so you can hear what the car sounds like as a bystander.
getting dumped on right now and i brought my video cam with me to work so hopefully i can give you something to compare against later tonight.

Nice vid! Everything sounds fine. No blown turbo. Now that you have a bigger turbo, you will hear a little more from both the turbo and the intake, but that's totally normal.

I could tell from the start of the vid that you were already having some drifting fun. The entire back end of the car was covered in snow. [lol] Nice packing of snow in the wheels too.

why would you get a CEL from drifting? quattro is a torsen based system and doesnt have computers...

drifting implies you had enough power to burn through the turn... usually only possible for us in snow/rain but it was probably your ESP light, not a CEL. you need to turn off ESP manually before trying any slides or snow drifting

that little button next to the card holder on the dash? press it and that triangle light will stay on meaning your ESP is off and you can do donuts and other fun stuff provided you have the power

uploading a video from a few minutes ago. not the greatest by any means, just trying to slide around a little in the tiny church lot across the street so i didn't have much room before i was sliding off the pavement. gives a little example of how loud the turbo is. I'm always amazed how much different it sounds outside the car.

Locking it is what blows the p steering. And Ryan we are good to go on Thurs at 6:30 :D

turning your wheel all the way left or right one way is locking it. When you turn you wheel all the way, basically it disables your power steering, and that is how it blows due to stress.

yeah i just saw the video and vinny wasnt going that hard... he wasnt going full lock with the wheel

if you go full lock and high rpm, you will blow the pump. When i was doing donuts i was spinning in place, he is making a decent size circle...

trust me, dont spin in place.. its a blast, you wont want to stop... but you will blow your pump

It is most likely your newer more aggressive turbo taking in big bites of air... even a K04 sounds different from a K03. Just have to get used to the "normal" running sounds of ur GTRS

Thank Kirk, picked the beige over silver. I've only ever seen one other A4 in beige, most of the time it's A6's.

and if those exhaust questions where directed at me, it's a Thermal R&D Race system with a TTTuning 2.5" downpipe and HFC. Not sure what Vinn is running.
