What's up guys. I was wondering what the best mod shops in and around the Vancouver area are, and your experience with them. Looking to get Tints, roof blacked out (vinyl), coils, apr chip, and intake within the next week or so. Thanks in advance!

    Re: Vancouver mod shops

RPI treated me pretty well. They don't have the widest or cheapest stock in things like exhaust or COs but I was thoroughly impressed. Depending on the $ situation in Jan, I'll probably be having them put together a suite of upgrades...

For off the shelf bolt on stuff and chips you can go to RPI (APR), PG Performance (REVO, Unitronic) or Kinetic Motorsport (Eurodyne)

I'd say skip the intake as it is useless and buy some H-Sport swaybars instead.

    Then get some driver education.

for mechanical work, I'll go for Blitzkrieg. I was amazed by their working speed when I got my H-Sport sway bar done.

    Re: Vancouver mod shops

relatedly, is there is there a driving school any of you would recommend that isn't aimed at teaching 17 YOs how to squeak by in tests? I realize it's not the most ideal locale for either, but I'm interested in both winter and performance training. Knowledge of our car's dynamics and systems is a big +

I would recommend Blitzkrieg as well. We have worked with them in the past and they might be one of our dealers moving forward in 09. Bob and Shane are two extremely nice guys to deal with and have massive amounts of car knowledge. That shop rocks!!!! You should check out the website because they have built some really cool cars!!!

I can vouch for all of the above mentioned shops. I have been to each of them for certain type of work and they all have been great!

You should look into your local chapter of the Audi Club North America. They usually do a few track days per year. Beginners must have an instructor with them. You will usually get a pretty good instructor that is willing to teach you a lot and you can always request a new instructor if you feel they aren't teaching you enough or correctly. You also get quality classroom instruction time before each of your on track sessions. I did a write-up about my experience here... http://audizine.com/forum/showthread...ight=track+day

Also, my buddy who moved out to Steamboat says that they have a Bridgestone winter driving experience. Apparently they teach you how to drive the car in the snow and you get to practice drifting and the like. I'm not sure if they let you drive your own car, but if not it's less wear on tear on your own car. I'm pretty sure Boulder is only 3-4 hours from Steamboat, so that's not too bad of a drive for a day of drifting cars... Hell, take a weekend trip and shred the mountain while you're out there. Steamboat has some awesome powder and tree runs! Here's the website...

I'm not too sure what Vancouver has to offer, but I saw you are located in CO... I'm sure Canada probably has their own chapters of the Audi Club North America, so you all should check that out too! It's a great time!

    Re: Vancouver mod shops

Best shop for APR is Scan Automotive in North Van.

    Coils: either Scan or Blitzkrieg.

Tint: Don't know the name of the shop but it's on Kingsway one block east of the ICBC claim center. You have to look for it. They do all the cars for MCL, Weissach etc. and they qouted me $300 for all windows using Llumar.

I second Scan, they do all the major maintenance work on my car and I got my car chipped there.

The staff is very friendly and knowledgeable.

These are the two local auto cross clubs, and they both offer performance driving schools. VCMC also arranges trips to the interior to get involved in ice racing.
