Has anyone purchased and installed this air intake from Achtuning? Any real performance gains? Ease of installation? Thanks for the comments.

no.. because the OEM air intake is already a CAI/RAI.

you get better throttle response, and its a little louder. IMO its not worth the $300 you'd be spending.

if you are going to do anything get a k&n drop in filter for your stock box, or just run it stock and put money elsewhere.

but if you like spendng money, making more noise, and th CF look, go for it

Sorry, but on S4's I believe it's been shown to decrease performance. Agree with the K&N comment as long it's not too oily, or bubbye MAF..

Thanks for the comments... I had seen that a K and N filter that was too oily would ruin the mass air sensor. I read that you are supposed to air it out for a couple days before installation, is that the best way to prevent damaging the mass air sensor?

The car is already CAI, K&N is a bad filter. The "do nothing" option is correct.

ITG makes a excellent filter option. It s a foam style so no oiling required. You can just use a shop vac to clean it on occasion.

    I have it,
Installation is for the most part strait forward, could be a bit tricky, i have lined the walls of the intake box with dynamat to prevent heat soak, and sealed the rest with foam, i have about 4 Net horsepower gain measured by G-tech meter, from 226 to 230, so it would equal out about 6 crank horsepower

The reason some see a drop on the dyno is because of the conditions in a hot garage, on the street there is a gain, at least I have.

I do like the carbon fiber so I didn’t mind spending 300+ on it.

Once I do a few more pulls and get more data under different conditions, I will post a write-up with detailed installation and the modifications to the head shields.

Bad idea. ITG filters are porous therefore they allow fine sand and dirt to squeeze through. Oh, and when they degrade, the pieces get sucked into your car. K&N is the best way to go. The only problem is when you clean it and re-oil it, you may over oil it witch in turn, the extra oil will slowly eat the coating on the MAF sensor causing it to measure false and inacurate readings.
