Why is my car stutting off?

it happens when i push in the clutch and the r's drop from around 2500-3500 rpms to idle. instead of staying at 800 rs it just drops to 0 rs and of course my car is then moving in to a turn or a stop light while it is shut off. it just happens some times, like once every 5 times i drive it but it seams like it happens more when its cold out. i have been letting it rev down to around 1500 rpms b4 i push in the clutch and i havnt had the problem at that low of rpms just when its at about 2300+ rpms. i have a 01 1.8t and i dont know if i need to recalibrate the Drive by wire or if it is a vac line or what? hopfuly one of you guys know. thanks

Check to see if you have popped on of your intercooler hoses, or maybe your MAF is disconnected accidentally.

check that black valve that looks like a mini hockey puck with vac lines going through it, sometimes it's half white half black. (it's located in a couple spots in your car and they go bad often so it could possibly be your problem)

Unplug your MAF and see if it goes away...
