    Is this normal?

Got my brakes upgraded about 700 miles ago. SS lines, Motul 5.1, Ferrodo DS2500's...

    anyway, here's my problem.

I realize that a lot of pads are loud, especially racing ones. For the first 200 miles, they were SILENT. No problems. Now they've been getting progressively louder to the point that it's just simply unbearable...

I thought it may be the brake quiet wearing off prematurely (I went on a spirited drive on the Dragon the other day), so my trusted shop is taking care of that on friday.

So here's my question. If the problem persists, what else could it be? Ive noticed more dust in the front now rather than the back (what stock was). Could it have anything to do with the rotors???

    Thanks everyone!

So a squeal at application. OK, I've had that problem. I removed the front pads numerous times to apply loads of anti-squeal anywhere that made sense and adjust the prongs on the back so they rode the piston walls and the "toes" were angled well enough that they helped keep them there over continued use. I sucked at it and eventually I just swapped the left and right inner pads after some mileage and it went away, lol.

    Re: Is this normal?

try shims behind the pads, reapply anti-squeal, and get this stuff called disc brake quiet -- it's a metallic spray that you spray onto the rotor surface and then you go drive and "burnish" it into the rotor.. (you go drive around the block accelerating to 35 and then stomping on the brakes)

if that doesn't do it you may have glazed over the pad during hard driving or heated up the rotor and caused some highspotting/warping... but that usually causes more of a shake and a womm womm wommm womm noise when you hit hte brakes... not a squeal
