    Carbon Fiber Strip Re-Application???

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I just purchased my '05 Avant Ultrasport 5 days ago. Before I purchased the car, the previous owner did point out this problem so I'm not flustered about it. The previous owner had put 4 different carbon fiber strips on the car, one in behind each window, drivers, passengers, two back seats. The carbon fiber is now starting to peel off. The previous owner and I both think its due to the unusually cold dry weather we have had here recently in the Pacific Northwest. I posted some pictures below of the strip that is by far the worst, which is the strip behind the driver's window. On the front side of the strip, it catches the door sealant slightly, you'll see in the pics. On the back side of the strip, it is simply coming off of it's previous adhesives. Now what are some good ways to fix this. Since I didn't apply the carbon fiber myself, nor have I every done any external installations on a vehicle myself, what procedures, purchases, and steps do I need to make in order to fix my problem. Here are some pictures that will give you a good idea of what's going wrong...

Its just 3M adhesive backing. I'd remove the strips, lightly sand the back of each as well as the surfaces the strips are being applied to and re-apply an adhesive of your choice.

^^ Above is correct...depends on if you want it permanent or temp. You can expoxt it or reapply 3M adhesive. Not a huge issue though
