Okay so I was driving around last Sunday in Chicago/burbs and well waz kinda glad it was 40's and raining rather than below 0 and snowing on my summer tires . When i got home and i opened my door and woosh...a good amount of water trapped between my door and the bottom frame of my car where the S4 emblem is, rushed to the floor. This isnt the first time i noticed this either. Has rained before and water seems to collect in between. No clue why but i dismissed it thinking its no big deal. Well guess what happened?? Woke up today and went to warm up the S4 and my door is frozen !! Oh well i think to my self, its chicago, its winter, and it happens...okay lets just go to the passenger side and open that up...and lo and behold that doors frozen too!! Now im a bit annoyed...ahh wtf, stupid audi's...ur made in germany..im sure it snows out there so this would be a common problem!! wateva...i haven't opened the back doors in a while so there should be no water in between but, today is not my day! Turns out all my friggin doors are frozen !! I mean come ON...well thats my rant! Has anyone else had this issue?? Does water collect between ur door and the s4 emblem? Have all your door been frozen before? Or am I just unlucky on one of the coldest days of the Winter?

it happened to me once before i garaged it. I took a hairdryer wiht a long ass extension cord to it and unfroze the driver's door. it sucks when it happens though. My trunk button usually freezes/gets stuck though, which is the worst. I can't push it so that it opens, it just doesnt budge sometimes if it's cold.

Yeah happens to me all the time... Someone sells some type of silicon spray for the doors seals to prevent them from freezing... I have never used it, although I should probably try it.

Pour some windshield washer fluid all up in the door jamb as much as you can. All over the door.

You can do the hair dryer

Once you do get in, get yourself that silicone stuff to put all over the seals so it doesnt happen again.

any kind of silicon spary will work. Permatex stuff RAWKS though.

And the nice thing about Audi's is that you put the key in the door and turn it and it will roll down the windows.... Hop in dukes of hazzard style just to get car warm enough and melt the doors like that. I've had to do that in my mkIII Jetta.

Try cleaning the drain plugs in the bottom of your door! That way they won't hold water and freeze the doors shut.

Just a tip for if your trunk button gets stuck:

Stick your key in there and twist it a very small bit, just enough for it not to come out when you pull on it. Then just pull on the key and the button should pop right out. I've had it happen to me since it has gotten really cold and this fixed it easily.

Re: The friggin doors are frozen!! All of them!!

I just finally got into my car yesterday. All four doors were frozen and had almost an inch of hard hard ice over them. I spent a good amount of time clearing all of the windows, then the key whole so I could put the key in to unroll them. It worked LOL. I climbed in and started my car. Drove around to heat it up then let it sit and warm the body up. Shortly after all the doors were able to open.
