    custom dyno tuning in the southeast???

    hi everybody,

    i'm brand new to audis, just purchased my 1st one, a 2002 1.8T avant. it has some aftermarket goodies - FMIC, bigger turbo, TT injectors, bigger downpipe, etc.

    the car runs fine now but i'd like to get it dyno tuned to really dial it in and make sure the A/Fs are solid. i'm not sure exactly what it was tuned with before (near as I can tell, it's whatever comes with the oettinger 270hp upgrade). the previous owner said he dynoed it when he put the new turbo on and the A/Fs were fine, and i've heard that the audi ecu can adjust to little changes but...i'd just like to be sure

    coming from the boosted honda world, i feel a little nervous driving around until i know the tune is definitely spot on. is there anyone in the atlanta area that does custom dyno tuning? or has a 4wd dyno so i could at least see how much power the car is making and some A/Fs? i dont mind driving either...as far as say NC or as far south as miami (i live in atl but am from south FL).

    let me know...thanks!

    USP in Coral springs talk to Chris Green, he has a dyno and some race cars. He should be able to help you if the numbers are not what you are looking for. People seem to trust his work. I've dynoed there a few times. There are others further south, it's going to depend on how far south you are willing to drive.

    Try top speed in Alpharetta, off Ga400. they have a 4 wheel dyno jet and they will take care of you. Tell them ringtec sent you. 678.297.7770

    to be honest - your car is fine... these don't just erupt while cruising like cars that were never meant to be boosted.

    the ecu can adapt to a lot mroe than just "small" changes, and i doubt that there's absolutely anything wrong with your car. if you're really concerned start reading tech threads about logging the car (there's some good stuff in the FAQ section of the B6 forum as well) and get a vag-com cable. log the car to your heart's content..

    if you must go forward with re-tuning the car then go to evan. he's a great guy and will do his absolute best to get the car back to you with more power, better driveability, and a higher level of safety than when it came in. i would trust him with my car... and that makes his shop one of two.

    We've got perfectly competent shops here in HotLanta. Where you at?

    Drop us a line at the local chapter of ACNA:
    http://www.cherokeeaudiclub.com

    We've got a couple of guys making good Stage 3 power. Paul at RingTec is alos well known and gets around the local dyno circuit comfortably. He is MTMSPEED above BTW.

    We're having an informal G2G Tuesday night at his shop. Drop by (23rd).
