well thats nice of them to do that. I may be wrong but i think you might just need the turbo, injectors. I think it uses the stock manifold. Not positive though...

Re: what do i need to go k04?

Is it getting replaced under warranty? Is that why labor is going to be free? Haha if I brought a car with that mod list to my dealership, they would laugh in my face. Sorry I couldn't help you with your questions...

Re: what do i need to go k04?

Actually all you need is the turbo, the manifold is part of the unit. No injectors required. But you would also need the software otherwise i really do not think you will see too much difference. If you have APR software, see if they can send you the file (for a price im sure).

contact STaSIS; they have a K04 kit available now. I don't think APR's is available any more?

Re: what do i need to go k04?

I may be wrong but i think all you need is a turbo ko4 isnt the biggest turbo so it'll fit in the stocks place, its a turbo that would upgrade if you had a few mods which you clearly love modding your car :). but why not get a BT like a GT28RS or a GT3071r and go all out.. with a high flow manifold, high flow fuel pump, new injectors, and the upgrades you have you would easily reach 325-350hp possibly even more, and the toque would be amazing. and from revo get a stage 3 flash and boom your set they will charge like 25 bux or maybe for free...

Re: what do i need to go k04?

well, only one company (that I know of) has a k04 kit: Stasis. I would assume you would need to go through them to get the whole kit: 6k roughly.

You would have to get your car tuned to run it off revo, they dont have any big turbo program, but good thing is revo is adjustable.

Best bet would start off with stasis and go from there. I havent seen on the forums anyone do a k04 upgrade as of yet. I have seen someone just do gt28, which fit over the stock manifold.

Re: what do i need to go k04?

you have to pay 6800 for the kit + install if you want the warranty I believe...and it has to be installed by a stasis dealer

According to that link its $5 grand plus a one year 15,000 mile warranty...the 6,800 kit is the signature series power kit its more because its a 4 year warranty but same exact kit

    STaSIS MTF 2.0T Turbo Upgrade:
    http://www.stasisengineering.com/turbo.php

The only offering on the market [that i know of] with a an ARB exemption order # [yes, that means CA smog legal] as well as a 1 year/15k mile warranty. If bought + installed at a STaSIS Signature Series Audi Dealership your factory 4 year / 50k mile warranty will be INTACT. For the OP [in Germany] that would not be an option. We charge more for the same kit in the sig series because we bear a MUCH larger financial burden in underwriting your factory warranty. it's a huge value for a customer with remaining warranty balance.

A review from the last track day our B7 did [which is the owner's daily] from that other audi forum: http://forums.audiworld.com/a4b7/msgs/110497.phtml

Also the MTF Turbo kit is on sale through December. Free install if you're local or free exhaust if you're not:

Re: what do i need to go k04?

Nalley. Right now, that's just more than I'd like to spend on a DD. I'm worried about putting 10k into the car and then totaling it. Gives me chills just thinking about it. For now, I'm going to get the GIAC-X chip and possibly a HPFP upgrade in the near future. I'm also looking for new wheels and tires...you guys up for sponsoring anyone (me) on the east coast?

Re: what do i need to go k04?

you can do our ecu upgrade [leave the FP alone] and an exhaust. works great and warrantied. we've got our wheels on sale: http://www.stasisengineering.com/hol...olidaysale.htm

Re: what do i need to go k04?

$1500 is a little steep for a software flash. If you put a sale out on that...maybe lower it down to $1000 and I'd go for it.

But my bigger question, is why not do the FP?

**Also, I was at Nalley a few weeks ago and inquired about the software flash. The gentleman at the parts department couldn't give me a price, and told me I couldn't be flashed that day even if I wanted to be. I'm not sure that's the case. And since I live over 100 miles away, it's not like it's a easy drive up there...Just thought I'd let you know that, Jim.

Re: what do i need to go k04?

    Hmmm, couple questions.

    1. how did they determine that the turbo was going bad?
    2. it's safe to drive for the next 3-weeks before they replace it?

    thx

Thanks for the heads up on Nalley - I'll ring them and make sure eveyone's on the same page. Information doesn't always transfer flawlessly. They can flash you in 30 minutes.

The tune costs more because we back the factory warranty. As soon as you modify the ecu, if ANYTHING goes wrong in the drivetrain we're potentially responsible. It's a massive potential financial burden and is why the warrantied tune costs more. The other nice thing is that you don't have to worry about the dealer finding the tune if you bring the car in for service. These are 2 great features and yes, they cost more.

It's a $35k+ car, the extra $ we charge is CHEAP considering your factory warranty is preserved.
