Vacuum Leak? Throwing P0171 Code? Please Read

I recently started throwing a CEL P0171. At first I thought it was my DV since it's an aftermarket one -- APR R1. My car was surging and the idle was rough at times, but the thing was, it was inconsistent, and I've had no other problems with the valve in this car or my TT.

I did a visual inspection the other night and saw that the check valve downstream of the N80 had split. I swung by my dealer yesterday to pick one up. My buddy Llyod at the parts counter told me that he sells several a week as they corrode internally and are the source of major headaches.

Here's a diagram showing the valve's location in the vacuum schematic.

In the schematic number 8 is the N80 and number 6 is the defective check valve.

I hope this helps people who are experiencing similar problems. The car runs fine now. This was an inexpensive fix. Less than$30.00.

I didn't know if a universal one would work. I don't mind buying O.E. parts. I get a warranty and decent quality. Hell... the original one lasted 90k miles.
