Front-trak audi

I am about to purchase my first Audi and am torn between what to do. I found a 2008 pre-certified 2.0 audi fully loaded with very low mileage for $28,000. Its very nice but I am in love with the new body style. I do not need the all wheel drive though. Does anyone here have any idea if and when the car will be available with front-trak. This will bring down the price to a reasonable level and I might possibly even add on that package with the led headlamps then :).

I found the answer out to those interested. I contacted Champion Audi and they said the front wheel drives are coming in January and will be 2 thousand dollars cheaper. They will also be retiring some 2009 demo models and offering them as pre-certified this month. I am going to check out both options.

CVT is subordinate to Quattro. Hope you are aware of what you are up to.

if you are going to buy an automatic audi definitely go quattro, if you're buying Front Trak, buy manual. CVT isn't the best transmission out there, it's great for what it is but it's rather fragile.

I read that the B6 had a defective CVT transmission. Is this tranny still causing problems in the B7 and B8 models??

Got an 08 B7 with CVT...haven't experienced any problems yet and its very smooth. Drop it into sport and it starts to move.

Drop to Sport and then shift using PADDLE SHIFT... its VERY VERY FUN

As long as you're not going to mod for a crazy amount of power Multitronic should be plenty fine.

I drove a B7 with it a while back and I actually kinda liked it, it's very responsive and has great pick up. That would be my choice if I had to get an automatic A4.

To answer your question, FrontTrak came out this week in FL...But i think its like that everywhere.
But the CVT isnt all that great. I had it on my B7. I told the dealer I refused to get Front Trak because of the CVT. I dont really care about quattro, but it has the tip tronic. Not looking for a manual right now.
