    Question SD card question?

Sorry if this is a repost but I couldn't find the exact answer. I have the 2007 B7 S4 and am using the sd card slots but only able to get 4 cd's to show up, even though I have about 15 on the card. I have looked this up on the forum before and it seemed the consensus is that I should be able to use a 2GB card. That is what I tried. I have not updated the system with any of the software updates yet. Do I need to do that to get the higher volume or am I stuck with it this way???? Thanks in advance.

    Re: SD card question?

As long as its less than 2GBs of music, I don't see why its not showing up. Try creating folders and put a CD in each folder and see if that works. The card isn't SDHC, right?

make sure you're not using iTunes format (m4a I believe)

HAS to be in MP3 format

    Re: SD card question?

Thanks I'll double check but i'm pretty sure that is what I have done. I will try to mess with the files and folders but all are MP3 format. Also I found that when I first insert the card, it starts playing a folder that doesn't show up on the screen. And as long as i scan ahead it will go through all the folders???? But still only 4 show up on the screen? Any other hints/ideas?

    Re: SD card question?

I had a similar issue when I was first using the system. When your SD card first loads, it will display only playlists on the main screen.

Instead of selecting a playlist, select the card itself. It should begin playing the first song in the first folder. At this point press the 'RETURN' button, and now it should display all of your folders.

    Re: SD card question?

I had to take my songs out of folders and drop them all root level onto the card for them to show up. As mentioned above, it will not display your mp4s and it's shame it limited to 2g.

4GB actually...and it's not limited at all...it's just that there are no bigger SD cards.

Are you sure about the 4GB? I've always been told 2GB. I don't want to purchase a 4 and then find out I just wasted $30 if it doesn't work but it would be nice to get a confirmation from a couple people that it does work. I have the RNS-E system...

    Thanks Spookyct,

Using the return function worked!! Seems like they would make this a little more user friendly, or I am just not too savvy with the unit.
    Thanks Again!

4GB SD cards will work but the total number of files plus folders is still limited to 512. In most cases you will end up with empty, unusable space on a 4GB card, unless you listen to a lot files that a re long or ripped with a high bitrate.

I recently bought 5 2gb SD cards on ebay for about $20 including shipping.

Mine shows the other two folders, but only plays from one of the folder and yes I did make sure all of the files were MP3s.
