I've lived here 26 years and it has only snowed once similar to this and most of it was at night, never during the day. Crazy weather, but being a boarder and not having it around every winter, I love it! Made the wifey go out (shes from Detroit and hates snow, go figure) and took the chihuahua pack for some play time. Dumped close to 6 inches at the park by my house, and still slowing lightly now.

I live between red rock the casino and redrock the mountain, off of charleston. That park is the highest elevation park I believe around 3300 ft above sea level.

wow you wouldn't expect that in LV.. pretty sweet. really heavy wet snow too. definitely the most fun to drive in and to pack big snow balls with. did the city use any salt on the streets or was it warm enough that it's melting away on its own?

Dec '03 - I was in Vegas for my wedding and expecting a bunch of people to fly in on a tight timeline. It snowed that day not just in LV but in the cities they were flying from. Came close to having no one at my wedding!

wow. henderson did get dumped on today. weird thing is, we didn't get much snow today, maybe two inches, and then it started to rain/sleet. i read it mostly occured on south east side.

Nope...they just tucked tail and all went home. No need to throw salt down. It actually melted on the roads as it hit. And it's nice and sunny today, so all that snow is gone.

Where at in Anthem do you live. I live up there too. They said we got about 11 inches by the nights end. It was funny as hell watching all the non AWD's slide down the hills. My quattro and my neighbors Subi di just fine though. here's a couple before the snow got too bad.

Hey evola4, I live up in Madeira Canyon. Where the Albertson's is on BiCentennial you turn left on Anthem Highlands and then left on Democracy and take that to the top of the hill, right next to THE CLUB.

Actual snow was probably about 8" but anywhere it could pile up at all (corners of the back yard, bushes, against the walls) was at least a foot.

I made my girl take my to work since her 4Runner is freakin RWD and not 4x4. She did just fine for her first time in the snow but coming back up Eastern to get home took her 4 HOURS. She spent about 30 minutes at every stop light because the line was so long and people were going soooo slow only about 2-3 cars could get through before it turned red again. That and all the accidents and abandoned/stuck cars that couldn't make it up the hill she had to weave in and out of .

There were people going into the oncoming lanes just to get around all the abandoned cars. The next day on the news Fox5 said there were 37 cars abandoned/stuck on Eastern/Anthem pkwy. I don't know if this part is true or not but I also heard from people at Albertson's that when they came in to work all of those cars had tickets on them too. Kind of funny but a major dick move if that's true.

When my girl was driving up Democracy (which is pretty steep) there was a handful of neighbors down at the bottom with their quad runners or 4x4's and towing people up or pushing them by hand as far as they could get them. My girl said when they saw her coming they were kind of cheering and said "We Love Audi's"...just one less car they had to push I guess.

Notice the only vehicle with tire tracks in the snow is the .

Wow you live right up the street from me. I live in the first tract on the right when you turn onto democracy to go up the hill. As a matter of fact now that I look at your house you have the same exact model that I do. Does your car have polished Sportec wheels because I might have seen your car at the Albertsons. I may have actually put on of my SinCityEuro business cards on it as well. You should come check us out sometime.
