You haven't even gotten the core support off yet and you're about ready to give up?

You might want to put down the tools while you're still ahead in that case...

haha noooo, I feel like giving up on the headlights, because the plastic lip is a little warped, and im worried about how it looks on the car every time i lift the hood.

As for the timing belt, the front bumper came off in no time. but I stipped a T45 socket, so I stopped there and got a new one, but its getting dark out already, and I have work.
like I said, im not in a rush to get it done quick. im taking my time, making sure everything goes right, and learn from this project.

oh and the black headlight is not finished yet either. still need to seal it, and try to fix, or do something with the warped plastic lip.

Good luck trying to fit that headlight back into its place with the lip all warped...

Not trying to sound like an ass but seriously.

On another note, I am about to perform my third joey mod operation and I dont know if I should do flat black (like before) or gloss black....what do you think?

Agreed, i've been rocking the MDX lately to work. Its great to not have to avoid potholes, park far, or just worry at all.

Re: I feel like giving up!

Don't worry too much about the warped lip. Make sure to clean out as much dried up glue as possible. A steady hand with a dremmel tool works great. Then just use a heat gun to soften up the plastic a bit and form it back by hand (use a glove that crap gets hot).

It's not gonna look factory ever again but you can get it good enough to it's not super noticable when you pop your hood. And who cares anyways unless it's a show car. I don't drive around with my hood popped.

Re: I feel like giving up!

the timing belt job is done! heck yesss!!!!!!! im so glad, I was at 100,000 not knowing when the previous onwer changed it.
old belt looks damn good, no cracks, or any signs of breaking. It was a factory Audi belt.
installed Continental belts, and full metal water pump, along with other timing belt stuff.
supplied by Pure Motorsports (our sponsor!)

ohhh the headlight! arhhhh, still only one done. I tested the one I did in the cold/rain yesterday, and let it sit outside for the night. no fog, no leaks! YAY!!!!
the warped plastic im sure will never get back to its past formation, so ill accept it.

the heat gun gets CRAZY with the plastic geez hahah.
I gotta get started on the other headlight now that I know I didnt get moisture, or leak in the first one!

Im super happy with everything right now!
im back to entering driveways slanted, avoiding potholes, and going super slow on dips.

theres no way to fix the lip being warped and even if you can, its pointless and a waste of time. it gets covered by the rubber gasket anyway
