crazy sound when turn

My car recently made a nasty whirling sound, so I went to VW dealership to get the powersteering fluid. I added more fluid, and the sound went away. Now, when it gets real cold outside, when I take off and do a slow turn it has a nasty cracking sound. I let my car warm up for a couple of mins before I take off. It just started doing this in the cold. After I drive for awhile the cracking sound goes away.

I recently had a similar problem. Car made loud groaning noise when i turned wheel. Took it to dealer right away, they fixed a broken hose clamp and refilled the fluid. went away. maybe you have a small leak in your hose?

check your CV boot for any rip, if the the boot on each side is ripped, it's time to replace them.

I don't think I have a leak. I have been checking the dipstick. How much would it cost to replace cv boot at a shop? Do most shops charge to diagnose?
